How To Make Braised Lamb Shanks

Although one shouldn't judge a restaurant on its specials, the specials are excellent choices. This cozy little restaurant provides delicious gourmet comfort food. Don't expect to eat and have room for dessert and be ready to chow down somewhere else. The dinners are substantial.

The best curry can be a lovely meal. A curry is ideal for dinner or lunch. I have eaten many curries in my life. Unfortunately I have eaten a lot of horrible curries that have been made by people who should know better! A good curry doesn't need to be expensive. A good curry consists of fresh recipes, herbs, and spices. The best thing of all is that you will be eating a homemade curry that is easy to make and is filled with healthy herbs and spices.

Here is a classic British recipe with an Asian twist. lamb shanks in the slow cooker is one of many popular UK main course dishes. As the UK has become more multi cultural over the years, this specific dish has been infused with Indian (Asian) spices to give it that extra flavor.

How about a pot of chili or a tasty lamb curry in less than 20 minutes? Or a nice beef pot roast in around 30 minutes? Or a large whole chicken or a pot of un-soaked beans cooked to perfection in about 20-25 minutes? Mashed potatoes in three minutes? It's no joke: In the time it will take you to watch the evening news, your families dinner will be ready -- and delicious.

On the way to the town of Golden, our next destination, we stopped to hike to Johnston Canyon, a worthwhile trek! The falls were splendid! The journey curried lamb took us less than an hour. It was a little crowded, even with the rain, but by the time we reached the falls, there were very few people around. On the road again, we encountered four majestically antlered elk! They know they are VIPs, and don't allow us people to hurry them along. They promenade along the road and graze gracefully by the roadside.

About 23 miles from the heart of Wilmington and 14 miles from the Delaware state line, The Whip Tavern is well worth the drive. The restaurant is quite literally in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by farms and rolling hills, which The Whip affectionately calls "horse country". There isn't even any cell phone service, but considering the atmosphere of the pub, you don't need to make a call because you're surrounded by 100 of your mutton curry friends.

There are new names popping up on the east side as the community tries to revitalize the neighborhood. Some young guy should get out there, discover and promote the new barbecue stars of the future. It would be nice to see suburban faces coming into the city to support our neighborhood businesses surrounding the new Sprint Center. When you go into a BBQ joint you want to see black faces in the kitchen and in the dining room enjoying the food. The same goes for Hispanic and Chinese restaurants: stay away from places with pimple faced suburban white kids slinging food, corporate ownership and a bland crowd of suburban diners. Embrace tradition, ethnicity, community and diversity.
