When going to a bar you usually have snacks or choose to have dinner with your drinks. It easy to start munching on what is in front of us, or choosing a dinner entree that is high in fat and shredded chicken tacos cooking light. Having knowledge of healthier options before going out will keep you from blowing a diet, or making unhealthy food choices. There are several healthier snack and dinner options you can choose when going out to a bar for the evening.

To make this, in a deep pan, melt the butter and the chopped onion and saute for 3 minutes. Add the slow cooker shredded chicken and cook until chicken is no longer pink. Add the mushrooms and 2 cups of water, add salt and pepper. In a small bowl whisk the sour cream with the flour and a tbsp of water. Add the sour cream mixture to the pan and stir well. Make sure the heat is on low, so that it doesn't burn, let this simmer for about 30 min. Add the fresh dill and serve warm. Enjoy!

We selected several items off of the dinner menu, which includes an option to build your own plate based on a handful meat selections- hot links (spicy sausage), pulled pork, pulled chicken, beef brisket and rib tips. Prices for the plates range in price from $9.75 for one choice of meat, up to $15.75 for four.

Another thing that Americans got wrong was the low fat and no fat craze. Fat is a necessary macronutrient for the body and should account for anywhere from 20-30% of your overall calories.
